Whether new to ceramics or enhancing your skills, this workshop provides a unique opportunity to learn about the process of hand building in a contemporary art environment. Students will create unique sculptural objects through a variety of clay techniques.

CREATIVE CLAY WORKSHOP: WHEEL THROWING

Registration required. Only 10 spots available.

This workshop offers students the knowledge needed to achieve excellence in wheel throwing. Students will learn the importance of centering clay, proper hand usage and techniques, and techniques to make objects using the wheel.

Join us for our first annual family celebration of art! This inaugural event coincides with the last day of Peace Week Delaware and as a vibrant part of the Wilmington Riverfront community, we have partnered with neighboring non-profits such as The Children’s Museum and iCreate to bring a day full of fun workshops, activities, food, entertainment, and art for guests of all ages.

The Art Cart greets visitors interested in an interactive experience and travels our galleries with a selection of creative projects appealing to all ages. There is always something new to discover as we rotate activities featured to connect with our dynamic exhibitions on display.

BODY OF ART: Open Figure Drawing Series

Wings Auditorium

Studio artist Jenna Lucente monitors these informal figure drawing sessions starting with quick sketch warm-ups and ending with 2-3 longer poses. Drawing instruction is not provided. Open Figure Drawing is a great environment for people getting started with the figure as well as experienced artists to advance their skills. Easels and drawing boards are first come, first served. BYO favorite sketching materials.
*please arrive 10 minutes early to allow yourself time to set-up.
