FIRST IN, STILL HERE
Scott Alan McClurg

July 31 - September 1, 2019

Opening Reception: Friday, August 2, 2019
5 - 9 PM during Art Loop

Animals migrated to North America long before humanity and today they remain. As humanity has infringed upon or removed their original habitats, many species have adapted, surviving and often thriving in the most unlikely of places.

In this exhibition, McClurg uses photography to explore wildlife in the region living everywhere from our backyards to wildlife refuges.

The title is a play on the computer programming term “First In, Still There” which refers to a database where information is added, and never removed. In this model, all data is retained and the database simply grows ever larger. In our area, some species have fled or gone extinct, but many are still here living among us.

Scott Alan McClurg received his BFA in printmaking and ceramics in 1995 from the University of Delaware. He maintains a studio and has exhibited at The Delaware Contemporary since the opening of the Wilmington Riverfront facility in 1999.
