Hurricane Relief

Help the Texas Rockport Center for the Arts recover!

Dear Friends,

Help us at the Delaware Contemporary help our sister organization, the Rockport Center for the Arts, rebuild from the catastrophic damage they suffered from Hurricane Harvey. As you can see from the images, the building has been declared a total loss.

Undeterred by their loss, they have continued to run their programs in alternate locations after completing salvage operations. Their Executive Director, Luis Puron, told our Executive Director, Joseph J Gonzales, "We may be with out a building right now, but we will rebuild. We will continue to offer our art classes at other locations, restore our public sculpture garden, and partner with the Art Museum of South Texas in neighboring South Texas to put on our "Birds in Art" exhibition, because the community needs us and art more than ever right now." Puron wrote to his community, "Art has the power to heal. One of my immediate goals is to provide a constructive and creative outlet for our community during this challenging time." We so admire their resolve and passion for making art available for their community as it recovers from the calamity.

You can also visit their home page for more information and to donate, or you can go directly to their PayPal page to donate. You can get updates on their progress and activities from their Facebook page:

We thank you in advance for helping us support our peers rebuild their art center in Rockport, Texas.
