We are excited to celebrate our 40th anniversary with you at our Art & Soul event. Thanks to the incredible support of our guests, and that of our sponsors, this glamorous and social fundraiser is already an amazing success!

Here is some helpful information for the evening:

What should I wear?
Fun, cocktail glam attire is suggested, vintage disco inspiration optional.


Where should I park?
We have ample free parking at The Delaware Contemporary.


I have a VIP ticket, what should I do when I arrive?
The doors open for the VIP Pre-Party at 6 PM with a ribbon cutting to commence the event. As we light our candles, cue the music, and prepare for a premium VIP experience, guests will not be permitted in before 6 PM. Once the doors open, kindly check in and enter our Studio 54 inspired VIP lounge. You will enjoy authentic disco from 1979 curated by music journalist and disco historian Christian John Wikane, a live musical performance by The Leslie Brothers, an awards presentation, and a vintage bar featuring:

The VIP lounge will be accessible to VIP guests only throughout the event. VIP guests will be given wrist bands at checkin for access. 


I have a Main Event ticket, what should I do when I arrive?
Kindly check in at the main entrance at 7 PM and begin your disco glam experience with dinner, live music by Special Delivery, In The Dark Circus Arts, art viewing, and open bar featuring "Artsquad" specialty cocktails highlighting the nuanced taste of Tom's Town Botanical Gin crafted by Artsquad Member and Mixologist, Ted Wilson.


I do not have a ticket but would like to attend. What should I do?
Online purchase is closed but tickets will be available for purchase at the door, VIP: $250 and Main Event: $100.



Tell me about the Art Auction!
Our art auction will be on display in DuPont I & II Galleries and bidding will be conducted digitally through Paddle8. Bidding can be done on personal devices and iPads will be available if needed. You must register online with Paddle8 before bidding on any artwork. Paddle8 representatives will be available during the event if you need assistance. If you would like register in advance visit paddle8.com/auction/delaware-contemporary.
Remote bidding is available and event attendance is not required to bid.

The LIVE auction will begin at 8:30 PM in our DuPont I Gallery with Live Auctioneer Ben Farina, Vice President of Freeman's and Department Head for Asian Arts. 

 

Reserves for LIVE auction items can be set up until Friday, March 22nd at 5 PM EDT. All other items will be available for remote bidding until Saturday, March 23rd at 9 PM EDT.

Tell me about the Luxury Auction!

Our luxury auction features a wide selection of exclusive experiences including get-aways and private tours at local cultural attractions. The luxury auction will be on display in our DuPont II Gallery and bidding will be through write-in paper bid sheets located near their displays with the exception of the South Africa Bush Retreat. Generously donated by Vance Kershner and Chrissy Hitchens, the South Africa Bush Retreat will be part of our live auction and bidding for this item will be through Paddle8. It honors the vision, spirit, artistic excellence, and hard work of our founding leaders, Rick Rothrock and Gina Bosworth.

This award recognizes an exceptional, regional artist under the age of 40 who demonstrates the spirit of innovation, dedication, and passion for contemporary art as exemplified by Gretchen Cummins Hupfel.

The Art Maker Award

Our Art Maker Award is designed to recognize an individual, group, or organization that has demonstrated a commitment to supporting art and creativity in our community. Recipients will have a record of promoting artistic expression and creative practice on a wide scale through philosophical, political, and financial support. A direct relationship with The Delaware Contemporary's mission and work are considered in the selection process.
